Online booking for trades & local businesses
Booksmith gives your customers round-the-clock online booking, with automated confirmations, reminders and review collection. Set up for you, managed for you, and live within 48 hours.
Most customers will not leave a voicemail; they simply call the next business on Google. Booksmith converts every enquiry, at any hour, into a confirmed appointment in your calendar.

How it works
Your booking page offers only the times you genuinely have available, within your working hours and notice period. Availability is always accurate.
The customer receives an email confirmation with a calendar invite and a self-service link to amend the booking. You are notified instantly, and the appointment appears in your own calendar automatically.
Reminders are sent the day before and an hour ahead. After the appointment, the customer receives a courteous invitation to leave a Google review. You complete the work; the administration completes itself.
What's inside
Email reminders the day before and the hour before, with SMS available. Your attendance rate is tracked on your dashboard, so the value is measurable.
Shortly after each appointment, customers receive your Google review link. More reviews improve your local ranking, which brings more enquiries.
Take a card deposit through Stripe when the appointment is made. Speculative bookings disappear, and funds settle directly to your account.
Each staff member has their own hours and services, and customers choose who they book with.
When you are fully booked, customers can join a waitlist and are notified automatically the moment a slot becomes available.
Two lines of code place the booking form inside your existing site, in your colours. It also runs standalone on its own address.
Customers view, move or cancel their bookings through secure email links. No passwords, no apps, no telephone back-and-forth.
Every booking appears in your phone's calendar automatically, and a morning summary lists the day's appointments.
Who it’s for
Per-chair diaries, deposits on the flaky Saturday slots, regulars rebooked from the chair.
For barbers →Therapist columns, deposits as standard, patch-test questions asked at booking. No commission.
For salons →Six-week cycles that keep themselves turning, new-dog details captured before arrival.
For groomers →Pupils book and move their own lessons, weekly slots repeat, reminders beat the 8am no-show.
For instructors →Bookable at 11pm when MOTs get remembered, reg captured at booking, waitlist refills the bays.
For garages →Weekly rounds that book themselves, quote visits self-served, access notes up front.
For cleaners →Comparing options? Read the honest numbers: Booksmith vs Fresha · Booksmith vs Treatwell. A different trade entirely? It almost certainly still fits; ask for a demo.
Security & your data
Every business runs isolated, with its own database on its own address. Your customer list is never pooled, mined or sold.
Deposits and subscriptions are handled end to end by Stripe, the same payment infrastructure the world's biggest companies run on. Card numbers never reach our servers.
Minimal data by design, one-click export, one-click purge of old records, and customers manage their own bookings through expiring secure links.
Every release is independently attacked before it ships: injection, forgery, replay and enumeration all get tried so your customers never have to find out.

Questions
Yes. The booking form can sit right inside your existing site: two lines of code (which we give you) and it appears on your page, matching your colours. Or it runs at booking.yourdomain.co.uk with a "Book online" button. No website at all? It works standalone too, and customers can book straight from your Google Business Profile link.
They can't. Booksmith only offers times within your working hours and notice period, minus anything already booked or blocked out. Holidays and personal commitments take two clicks to block.
No. No app, no passwords, nothing to download. They book in about 30 seconds on any phone, and manage the booking from a link in their email.
Reminders the day before and the hour before prevent most of them. For persistent cases you can take a small card deposit at booking, which reduces no-shows to near zero.
Correct. The service is £75 a month with nothing payable upfront, and you may cancel at any time. We would rather retain you because the product works than because a contract requires it.
